Default no power untill 4000rpm on d15b7

im still puzzled with this motor.

its running great no noises besides that ebay waterpump.
i replaced the oil pan gasket because i overtightened it first time(followed the honda service manual torque specs WTF lol)
no leaks, not overheating, no oil burning,no check engine light.

it didnt pass emissions because of O2 sensor so i replaced it with bosch from shmucks( had to get one fast) it ran better and passed.

but i still get shitty gas mileage (about 20-25mpg) 100-150 miles per half a tank.

and power is completely gone untill 4000rpm.
cant even go uphill, i have to downshift into 2nd gear in order to keep up with traffic.
when i accelerate its farting around untill 4k and then starts moving.
im using 87 and 89 gas and the ignition timing is retarded just a lil bit( i thought i would get better mileage)

the idle stays at 1500 for some reason and randomly falls to normal idle while i drive around town. bounces up/down fewtimes when i let the gas go and back to 1500.

i refreshed the engine with a new gasket set before i put it in and cleaned out all the sensors and stuff there was no damage or buildup on valves/pistons. everything was pretty clean.

Your timing is off. Get your timing adjusted and your MPG will go up along with the torque loss you are experiencing.

sounds like 1 of 3 things...

timing, dizzy, or that O2 sensor you got was trash because my car used to do this and usually about 99% of the time it was one of those 3 things... GL bro..

would it throw a CEL if the o2 is not sending right signal?
timing is retarded few degrees. distributor is good condition as well( new cap rotor) and the coil is checked also good.

well i switched from integra LS so i dont really know if it supposed to have power or not. cuz in LS i could go up that hill in 5th gear lol

How old are the plugs, wires? If old, replace them and then set the ignition timing to spec. When was the fuel filter last replaced?

Have you compression tested the cylinders?

Idle: Try cleaning the IACV and FITV.

new plugs/wires new fuel filter as well
i ve cleaned the iacv when it was apart but havent touched the fast idle.

isnt retarded timing supposed to give better gas mileage and a bit less power with smoother engine operation?
i put about 1000 miles on it since and the oil is pretty clean still, wouldnt blow-by break down the oil faster?

im also thinking its shitty bosch o2 sensor and fitv

ow else would i get such bad gas mileage and no power.

o2 sensor it was

i found a used sensor from a 93 integra and swapped it in.

idle went back to normal right away.
and i drove all the way up the hill in 3rd gear with no problems.
feels much smoother now as well.

fn bosch didnt they invent the O2 sensor in the first place, why cant they make one that works...

Reset the ECU and set the ignition timing to the red mark. How old are the cap and rotor?
