No power to main relay/ fuel pump
my 93 civic was running fine, drove it to the store and when i came back it wont start. The car would crank but wont run. I also do not hear the fuel pump prime. I have checked and there's no power to the fuel pump. I traced it back to the main relay and the main relay also does not get power when the key is turned to on. I've checked all the fuses and nothing is blown. I have also replaced the main relay and it doesn't run, there's no click noise from the main relay when i turned the key to on. Again, there's no power going to the main relay. Does anyone know what else i can check?

how did you check the fuses by eye or a test light?
I'd double check fuse 12 and 18 in the underdash fuse box! does anything else not work engine light light up when you turn the key etc?
Also is it every wire on the relay not getting power or? need to know which wires are and aren't getting power! Then I can help you further

Re: (SiREJ8)
the fuses were checked by eye. All lights light up and engine check light does not go out after leaving the key to the on switch for a while. I think i checked the blue with white stripe at the main relay plug, can't seem to remember... but i do remember it's blue stripe with the key turned to on. While i was down there, i stuck the multimeter into the other holes and one of them have a very weak voltage reading. It went from 0 to 2 and back to 0 or something with the key turned to on. I don't remember which wire that is, i will have to check tomorrow, but the relay is definitely not clicking at all. The car was running just fine before i parked. It just wouldn't start since.

Re: (elsmiles)
i will recheck fuses 12 and 18 tomorrow. The car is currently at my brother's place. Is it possible that the ignition switch is bad?

Re: No power to main relay/ fuel pump (elsmiles)
Remove the relay from the connector and verify that there is battery voltage (ignition switch ON) at the black/yellow wire of the connector (opposite terminal number 5). if there is no voltage check number 2 fuse.if there is battery voltage then use a jumper wire connect battery voltage to the number 6 terminal of the relay and the ground to number 8 terminal(there is number on the relay if you look closely) then check for continuity between the number 5 and number 7 terminals. If there is no continuity replace the relay. then connect battery voltage to the number 5 terminal ground to the number 2 terminal and verify there is continuity between number 1 and number 3 terminals If there is no continuity replace the relay. then if all else falls connect battery voltage to the number 3 terminal and ground to the number 8 terminal . verify there's continuity between the number 5 and the number 7 terminals. If there is no continuity replace the relay. if there is continuity the relay is OK.

Re: No power to main relay/ fuel pump (94Hatchd15b7)
i had another working relay and had swapped it in yesterday and it doesn't work/click when on. Since i can't work on the car right now, say if there is no battery voltage at the black/yellow wire of the connector, what is my next step in diagnosing the problem? also when it shows voltage, is it going to be 12v or something less like 2? because i did get an intermittent 2 volt yesterday when i checked, i'm just not sure which wire connector it was.

Re: No power to main relay/ fuel pump (94EG8)
so i have checked all my fuses with a multimeter and they're all working. The thermostat ground is also good. On the main relay, i was probing and i found that there is only voltage at the yellow wire connection, at the number 1 on the main relay if you were to take it off and look at it. The relay is still not clicking and i'm still not getting power to the fuel pump. anyone have an idea of what else to check?

the car is a 93 civic si hatchback. It says honda of canada in the engine bay. I've been trying to find the fuse for the main relay but it's like it doesn't have one.

opposite terminal number 5 is number 6 and that is a blue/white wire. That wire doesn't have any voltage when key is turn to on. the only terminal that shows voltage with key turn to on or off is terminal number 1 (yellow wire on connector)
