No intake = strange sounds and odd preformance
So i pulled my intake off to respray it black. left it at work to try, just driving with the filter on the TB for the night. Lots of strange things happen when you do this.
First off, it gets real loud at about 3 grand, until about 4500 or so. Car seems to pull strong in the midrange, but falls on its face in the lower and upper. i always thought that no intake, just a filter, was supposed to make more upper rpm power... anyways, the intake is going back on tomorrow, just thought id share this weirdness with everyone else.

my guess is that w/o an intake tube, the flow into the TB is too scattered and turbulent. but im only 5 weeks into my fluid dynamics course... ill let u know in a few months

Re: (mathusala)
yeah, i figured that without the intake tube, there is nothing to straighten the air, so its coming in all messed up. There was some nice punch in like 3rd gear at (suprisingly) 2500 rpm. i was real suprised. Went out for some late night testing to confirm all this. Its definitely too loud to have like that everyday, the kind of loud that does nothing but give you headache and get annoying. Oh well, it was fun.
