Default no ignition in eg b16a

hey guys. i just finished my b16a swap into my 93 civic cx. but now i dont have ignition. my buddy told me bad ground but i undid all the grounds and sanded em down so those are all fine. the only other info i have is that when you hit the ignition the "heater motor relay" makes a "click" noise. any help is greatly appreciated. if you need more info about the swap or car let me know as i would love to have my car running asap. thanks

no i have the ignition with the key and what not, but when you turn the key all the way over to start the car the starter dont turn. i jumped the started straight from the battery and got it to turn but i noticed the distributor was moving wobly, but i didnt have it tight also so i could finish the timing.

check the wires on the starter. just te other day i was at my bank. when i was trying to leave the starter wouldnt go. i noticed the little wire the runs from the ignition was unpluged. i guess it shook loose.

but yea check that.

the little plug slip on one is on. i checked that, any other wires that might have been loose? could there be any hidden fuses anywhere that could have popped?

sounds like a blown fuse, or possibly a bad clutch safety switch. if your bypassing the key and the starter turns then it obviously works(i say this because someone will say its a bad starter). checking for fuses and bypassing the clutch safety switch are easy so start there. and out of curiosity you didnt do an auto to manual swap did you?

k actually its not the clutch saftey switch cause i replaced it today and still no turn over. the better questio i have is, how do i tell of the starter is getting power? and assuming its not what could be causeing power to not get to the starter? this swap is very depressing right now

i think it will receive power when you have the ignition on. and if you have a DMM you can check to see if there is power.. also.. you might want to check the cable that goes form the battery to the starter. and check if there is any opens.

you gotta check the cable that's from the starter to the battery... also how about the battery? did you make sure its properly charged? or has enough power? if not then do a charge test.. charge at 40A for 3 minutes if its below 15.5 volts then charge it.. if its over 15.5 then your bat is trashed.. charge the bat till it gets to 15.5 or 16.0 dont exceed 16.0 volts... also test your alternator use the DMM to check for opens but i think honda alternators you can't take apart.. because they solder it together not sure.. but take it to like auto zone or something to get it tested.

you could also test the starter by simply kinda hot wiring it. make sure the key is in the run position and jump power with a piece of wire from the main power on the starter to the starter signal (the little plug on the starter) if the starter turns like normal then you have a bad connection between the starter signal and the key. if it does nothing then the starter is trashed.

yea i have jumped the starter with the wire and it turns over fine. wher would the bad connection between the key and the starter soleniod be? thats basically what it must be as far as i can figure out. and if the battery was trashed wouldnt it at least still try to turn over?

i could be wrong cause its been a while since ive messed with a 5th gen. but i think there is an ignition or starter fuse or something under the dash and hood. also you said you replaced the clutch safety switch, double check it. make sure its plugged in and if so try unplugging it and bypassing it all together. just cause its new doesnt mean it cant be bad.

no you are right there is a 50amp ignition fuse under the hood and a 7.5amp starter signal fuse under the dash, but both those are good. ill try bypassing the clutch safty switch and see what happens,
