Default No heat alternative?

First off i'll preface this by saying that if this isn't in the right forum then let me know and i'll move it. Ok, I am in the midst of a wire tuck and am contemplating pulling out my heater core and everything heat related. However, if I were to need a defroster at any time are there any 12v heaters that will work for a bit? Something that will plug into the cigarette lighter?

Thanks

You live in NY, guess this is strictly a summer/track car? BTW, there is a huge write-up on here somewhere on a wire tuck where the guy walks through it step by step. If you can get your hands on it (probably in the archives), that'd be extremely helpful.

I've got the wire tuck pretty much done, i'm just at a lost on the heat. It'll pretty much be a summer car, but come September I might need the defroster or so. Just looking for an alternative.

my advice would be to keep the stock system.

What would be the huge benefit of taking it out? Weight? Clean look?

Anything that plugs into the cigarrette lighter is going to suck and not help with foggy windows.

Its up to you though.

I was having this debate with myself for the longest and finally desided just to leave it in. Seriously it doesnt make that much of a difference and its worth having.

If you're worried about the windows fogging just use lots of Rain-X anti fog, otherwise I'd say just keep the heater.
