no flames needed: Anyone with air suspension?
I can possibly get a very good deal on an air suspension. Not bags, but the rods.
READ:
I do NOT auto-x. Don't preach to me about how it won't handle good.
That said.....How is an air suspension on the street? The one's i've seen look very smooth and controlled...not floppy and soft like the earlier designs. I like the idea of having hydraulic like activity, but still a smooth/controlled ride. Plus it's almost all bolt in...so it can be taken out if wanted.
Anybody with any first-hand experiences? What do you think?

I'm curious is your car a show only or race/show? Because if u get air suspension i recommend u only go show.
it's my daily driver.
occasional stop light race. other than just my daily driver/cruiser.
I'm looking (hopefully) from input from someone that has a system and drives it on the street. What are your thoghts?

When I was in Team Autobots, some of the members had air rides...To tell you the truth, if you get the good ones, they ride smoother than anything... but if its too high..or too low, its gonna be a bumpy ride.....The only thing is you'll run into air leaks eventually....and they're a NO NO for high speeds/turns...

I would probably be driving with just a slightly lowered stance, but I like the ability to be able to slam it/ pose it when parked...
I've seen 8-9 Civics in the past month that have them....ride pretty smooth, pull up to the intersection and you hear 'pssssshhhhhht' and the car drops. ah, it's great

I remember this foo with a accord with air bags, and his **** broke in the front on the freeway, and thats all I need to say, thanks have a good day.

I'd never get them, but I won't flame you cuz i'm not an a*shole like everyone else.
Do your research on the best system you can find. Blowjax sucks, so don't go there. I've never seen a system without air leaks. Watch out for air leaks and as previously mentioned, fast turns and freeway driving are a bad idea. If you make a sharp turn at a fast speed, one of the front air cylinders will blow and you'll pretty much be screwed. Same thing happens while driving fast and hitting a small incline/bump in the road.

Yup. Watch out for air leaks. My friend has some cylinders, and when he had a leak, his car was stuck in his garage for months until a shop came out to look at it.

Now when you guys sayin blowing cylinders, do you actually mean blowing the cylinders themselves, or the lines attached to them?
Because I would be going with all steel braided lines with very very nice fittings....never heard of blowing with this setup...just the crap rubber lines with lame fittings.
Also, is there any style that's particularly better.... ie bags or cylinders etc?

Dont get me wrong man, i think it'd be pimp to cruise up, drop the car on her frame at the stop lights, and then bust off haulin' ***... and i'd love to have a set of air ride's but it's just one more thing to go wrong... one more thing to worry about.

I see them all the time. Usually they will just sit there blowing off air. I just hit them with the purge and they always look puzzled. I think they are pretty cool, but I wouldn't roll em. Looks too much like a caddy ride, too soft.

I would think that the cylinders would be better than the bags. It doesnt look like a bad setup. I like the idea, but dont know how quality they are. Also, I like to take corners fast...

man.. IMO, i wouldn't do it for a daily driver. too risky, and too much **** to watch out for.

I dont believe you can blow a cyclinder. As for stainless steel lines, that would be much better then the crappy plastic lines it comes with. Also use stainless fittings. When running the lines, makes sure you uses plenty telflon tape around the fittings and on the cyclinders where the line meets. Thats where most leaks come from. My opinion, bags are a much better ride then cyclinders, but i dont think import has any bag kits for them.

As long as you have a professional shop do the install you should be good. Remeber that with a FWD car you'll tear up the CV joints if you drop it while driving. Also most of the air struts don't allow much turning since they don't use a strut bushing, so you will get leaks on the rods. There is a new air strut with a bag instead of a "can" that should fix that problem. Like everyone said before me, air bag/struts will leak. Just keep a eye out on your pressure.

I know people that have had it done ( 
Im ashamed to say I know these people) and they ride like TOTAL ****! and they ARE not smooth whats so ever, it's like having sex on a 3 legged bed, aint gonna last........

I have a full air cylinder set up on my hatch.......
here is the deal the ride ias not bad except when at extreme highs or lows.
I drove my car all last summer no leaks or problems....even on a 400 mile road trip....i recommend getting threaded fitting the quick conects that most kits come with are plastic and the air line can slide out or the fitting can crack or time....get a good compressor if it is your sreet cat...trust me......i am taking my air off this spring.....you can not hook up racing or launching hard at all w/ air ....i was running a zex kit and the car would literally hop off the line when i launched hard....so with the turbo i will be adding soon i can't imagine what would happen
