No crank issue!
Alright so here's what's going on.
96 civic hatchback auto. car was converted to 5 SPd and a 5 SPd engine harness was used. Underdash harness is still that of the auto, everything was plug and play, everything works, but the car won't crank!
I've noticed that the blk/wht wire that goes from the ignition (has power when trying to start the car) turns into a blk/red wire on the driver side harness and then back to blk/ wht all the way to the starter.
The starter on the car is brand new, and I can start the car if I run a wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the starter.
All fuses are good, all grounds are grounded tight.
The auto shifter( or what remains of it) is in park, and tucked behind the cupholder/console. Everything I'd plugged in as it should be.
Any inputs? I've searched, and searched. I've read about a starter relay but I've yet to find it.
Also, I noticed that the blk/red wire goes behind the fuse box as well.

Re: No crank issue!
They both have voltage. I've read all comments you've posted on others people threads. I checked the ground wire, and it is real tight.

Re: No crank issue!
If the starter has voltage on both wires and also has good ground on the transmission, then the "new" starter is bad. But the starter cranks when wired directly to the battery. So, the starter must not have good ground or voltage for at least one of the starter wires. What voltage do you measure? Is there continuity to body ground from the transmission ground wire?
