No CEL, No VTEC
Okay, i've had so many problems and I have been narrowing them down. As of RIGHT NOW.. my CEL is OFF.. it use to stay ON 24/7 with a 21 - 6 ECU Code.. saying my coolant sensor and Vtec solenoid were not working. So.. I replaced the sensor and NOTHING.. still CEL was on. I changed Solenoids... and the CEL was on... i put the old Solenoid on and now my CEL is OFF and my car is running FASTER it seems and not redlining at 6500.. but not that the CEL is off..I still have no VTEC. Any help would be great
Car: 00 Civic Si
Motor: OBD2 B18c
I am using the B18c OBD2 JDM GSR ECU with the conversion harness to the B16 wiring harness.

Hmmm.... Sounds interesting have you checked your oil pressure to make sure that you're getting enough for the solenoind? If not recheck your solenoind wiring.

Re: No CEL, No VTEC
Yea just took the car out about 10 mile drive.. NO CEL still and NO VTEC.... parked the car for maybe 10 minutes. Started the car up.. CEL came on... thought wow that's weird.. drove to the stop light.. turned the car off just to see if it would still stay on or not... turned the car back on.... CEL is OFF.... still no VTEC.. so. Everything is plugged in... took the Solenoid off earlier today and cleaned it.. even though it was already clean and.. i really dont know.

Re: No CEL, No VTEC
If it is going off and on, it is likely a loose connection that is tripping the CEL...

Re: No CEL, No VTEC
every thing has to be right for vtec to engage.
fuel pressure, engine temp, coolant temp etc.
and the ECU decides when to engage vtec.
if anything is not right or not working, then vtec wont kick in

Re: No CEL, No VTEC
Yea well when I 1st did the swap it was telling me.. Coolant Temp Sensor.. so I was like.. ohhh ok, that explains why Vtec doesnt work. So I replaced that.. still.. CEL was on saying it wasnt working.. so I replaced it ONE more time.. still CEL .. but the car is running fine, normal temp.. heat inside the car everything. Early today the CEL was on and it was redlining at 6500.. then i went home.. cleaned the solienoid out.. CEL is off.. but still not VTEC and know it's going past 6500. I really don't think it's oil pressure and i've double checked all the wiring so.. idk.. tomorrow when it's light out im going to make a list of EVERYTHING and go over it all again.. step by step.. because it sucks when VTEC doesnt work and the CEL is off.. makes things harder.
