I got a 93 eg hatch with a d15b7 motor in it that I just purchased. The motor had oil and coolant mixture so I went ahead and changed the head gasket. Now there isnt any mixture issues, the car starts up, idles, and revs up good. But as soon as I take it for a test drive, there is no acceleration at all. I can barely drive on normal streets, and on hills, the car doesnt even make it.

I really thought that it was the timing, but I think the timing is correct because I redid it twice. The crank shaft gear and the cam was lined up at TDC, but the belt wouldn't go on correctly because it was half a tooth off so I picked the best I could. I cant seem to get it to line up EXACT no matter which direction I go.

There is spark in all four cylinders, and the car will sit there and idle for an hour with no problems. There is no CEL. I have researched and tried everything to my knowledge.

Please help me with any inputs.

not sure if you have a serious problem, but my stock d15b7 cant make it up hills either lol.. thats what happens when you've only got 100lbs tq.. </3 cny

Its not cuz its too slow. it wont drive up a hill at all!! When u give it gas, it bogs and decelerated.

The throttle body might be clogged or the fuel filter, Bro there could be a hundred reasons why a car wont get up and go like it should.
