nitrous??
i have a d15b7 with bolt ons and i wanted to do some spray on it bc its cheaper than going turbo. problem is ive heard the b7 has weak rods. i was wondering how much of a shot would be safe to do (if any)? cars got 180k on it so its pretty old. i know i need to retard my timing and get different plugs. would i need the arp head bolts? also are there any brands that would be best?
just a thought that was going through my head since i have like $1500.

Re: nitrous??
i probably wouldnt do more than a 50 shot, but for the money youll spend on a nitrous kit why not just get a decent z6 and drop in or just save your money for something that'll still give you power after you push a button or the bottles empty...like starting a b series build, h2b or something

Re: nitrous??
moving in a couple months and this is my only car its needs to drive pretty much everyday. no works going to get done on it till march bc of the weather up here. and i wanted to just do a little extra b4 i moved.
i was thinking about doing a y8 manifold and an a6 cam. nitrous is still ok to run off that set up right?

Re: nitrous??
yea i was thinking about 50 any ways i know 75 was too much for it with that many miles. but i wasnt sure if i sould go with 35.
have any idea how much power i could expect after the intake y8 manifold a6 cam headers test pipe and 2 1/4 in piping with a 50 shot?

Re: nitrous??
Why bother putting a kit on a crappy motor?
Just save your money, put it in the bank, and then grab it after you settle down in your new location. Then you can think about doing something normal, like a Z6 swap or something with lower miles, first.
What you're doing now is just buying something just for the sake of buying something, and it's a stupid way of going about doing things.
Bank the money, do the project once you got all your ducks on a row.. 1500 is a lot, more than I'd waste on spray for an old *** B7, not to mention if you "need" it to last so long, spraying a 187k mile B7 isn't exactly the way to go about doing so...

Re: nitrous??
i agree to what he said..save it to get a better motor b/c like u said thats ur daily to get from point a to point b if u spray that it might blow the first bit of nitrous it gets then youll be screwed i say get a new motor boost it..or spray watever your horsepower dreams say and be safe..
