Nissan SE-R V-Spec !
My dad (who has money, unlike me) bought an SE-R V-Spec this morning... He needed 4 doors but he likes speed and shifting gears. You dont need to tell me this is a Honda forum... I just wanted to know what the Honda-Tech pros thought of the 175hp SE-R. I find it really loud in 1st and 2nd... Any Honda vs. SE-R stories?>

Interior is really flashy... some will like it, some will really hate it. I like it. The car is fast... im not sure h0w she will fair against a GSR but I think it would be a good race... Now im not sure here, but I think in a Car and Driver comparo I read a few months ago, the SE-R V-Spec went at it with the 2002 SiR hatch and the Nissan toasted it!

congrats on the purchase, check your engine oil in the first 3000 miles often, over at freshalloy MANY people kill their engine because of no oil, most of the SE-R stopped buring oil at 7000 or so miles. good luck on the new car.

I dont know... the SE-R has a higher torque figure than horsepower... now im not sure if thats cool but Motor Trend seemed to think that was awesome.

I doubt you SE-R's daily... and I doubt even more they get waxed by Neons left and right... Unless you and your friends have ripped out the stock engine on those Neons i cant see SE-R's get smoked by R/T Neons... especially when In a Motor Trend overall comparison the Neon came in last place of 6 cars and the SE-R came second behind the new Honda Civic Si...

Do not listen to what people say about this car! you have to drive one to believe it! My father went through his mid-life crisis and bought a red spec-v and it is a beast. He hasn't had any problems yet, but he has under 5,000 miles on it. the motor is incredible. it has the kind of torqe down low that would make any Honda fan cream their pants. Second gear doesn't chirp the tires, it spins those big 17 inch Z-rated tires. You need to do a shift to third to get just a chirp, but sometimes the tires wil spin. Lateral grip is incredible! This car is a four door race car, and for under 18 grand! I'd like to see a pocket rocket beat that price! And the motor is all bottled up. Hot Shot makes headers and a CAI that take crank horsepower to around 200. Did I mention all that torque!?! Big power band. I'm very jelous in my 95 cx. Drive the Spec-V!

i don't really think they are fast. I raced 1 from a roll in 1st and by 3rd gear i already had it by about 5 cars. I have a 92 4 dr civic with a b18c with bolts on. You should have saw his face when a fellow 4 dr beat him. The car is nice and all but i did not think it was fast at all

my friend has a SE-R Spev-V and i drove it and it pulls really good compared to my Si, he has a Injen CAI and it gets loud at 5K nice interior too...the seats kinda feels like the ITR seats, overall a good car for the money.

I like the car, its the wheels I hate, needs to be dropped another inch or so too.
i love those cars!! Interior is so nice.. and they actually have torque.. unlike my 1.6l
It's a nice car, but its not a r34... I would buy my civic over that, my opinion...

Except for the handling and looks should have just bout the se. They still havent gotten it to go faster in the 1/4. Which i find to be strange since it has more power. Not to mention the SE is cheaper. That or buy an older 200 sx and drop an SR20DETT in that bitch ahhhhhhhh now thats a spicy meataball!
