omg no.....
please just simply take a RUBBER mallet hammer and give it a light tap on the metal housing and it will jump loose..
DO NOT PRY ANYTHING. DO NOT USE A METAL HAMMER EITHER.
And just for the record...a honda distributor Physically WILL NOT go in wrong..they go in One way and one way only...

i gave the the motor minute cranks and i could see a gap building between the dizzy & the head. then a a few taps with a rubber malet and its off. i put some form a gasket on the head and and reinstalled the dizzzy 1180 degrees from where it was. fingers crossed.

Before I always believed that the dizzy can never be installed 180 degrees off. Until two days ago when I fixed a friends civic that has starting issues. Problem is the distributor was 180 degrees off. It was really tight, but my idiot friend has found a way to force the dizzy to go in anyway.
