Whatever you plan on doing, do not be scared to spend more on quality parts. My opinion would be if you want to do it, do it right. You will be much happier with good parts.

Post pictures of what you got.
But definilty first do your maintanance.
engine:
cap, rotor, plugs, wires , fuel filter, oil, oil filter, etc
then Brakes
new pads, rotors , SS lines while you are at it and of course new fluid
then
Suspension and wheels with good tires.
that would be my list.

Decide on what the car will be used for then go from there. If it was my car I would do the following.
-wheels/tires
-suspension/lowering/shocks/swaybars
-headers
-exhaust
-intake
-braking system/pads/rotors/ss brake lines

Re: Newly bought Civic wat should i do?!
I personally like to have my rigs clean and sleek looking on the outside, or you could say I like to keep them a sleeper, but on the inside have it a completely different story. It depends on what you want dude, and what your finances can handle of course. If it was my car, I'd install a higher performance exhaust system, brakes, suspension, intake, stereo system, wheels/tires, maybe a higher performance tranny, and simple stuff like that. Getting stuff like that done will greatly improve your car's performance and make it a much more fun car to drive. Also later on down the road if you want to completely build your engine next, then you can and you won't have to worry about getting a new tranny or suspension to handle its new power increase cause you've already gotten the other stuff done.
But like I said before, its your car and its your call on what you want to do to it. Best of luck dude.

Re: Newly bought Civic wat should i do?!
Well the first thing I would do is buy a different engine. That is if you still have the stock one. Either a b16 or b18. Will make it a whole new experience. It's pretty much a dirct swap and cost is pretty low at roughly 700-1000. It's so worth it. Than I would reccomend some coilovers. I have progress series II coilovers that allow you to adjust ride height and way better handling. I paid 500 for my new set from robearracing.com. Of course rims and tires. 15" or 16". Than start withthe basic bolt ons I/h/e. Hope this helps to point you in the right direction. Good luck.

v tec stickers first and foremost and then a couple bass tubes and a neon shift ****.
no I started with getting wheels, intake, exhaust, ngk wires, maintenance stuff, lowering springs and a front camber kit. I had a blast driving it like that for awhile but you should def. be looking for good quality parts and do lots of reading on sites like this you will learn a lot if you can decipher some of the bs.

In my opinion, H22 is worth it and they take a beating as long as you do it right.
Edit: Don't let people tell you its too heavy and hadles like ****, cause if you get a good suspension it is beautiful.

Buy a Helms manual (not a Haynes or Chiltons).
Give it a tune-up so your next thread isn't "Newly bought Civic wit CEL wat should I do?!"

Re: Newly bought Civic wat should i do?!
I would say go with a b series motor. Either a b16 or b18. The B18 produces a little bit more torque but might be more expensive than a B16. This is due to the B16 being a 1.6L and the B18 being a 1.8L. These engines produce quite a bit more power than the stock motor. Easiest to install. Probably the cheapest out of the choices. Aftermarket parts are easy to find and decently priced. Whats nice is you can swap alot of b-series parts. For example, like Civic Type-R cams and Integra Type-R Cams you can install in almost any b-series motor. You can get a b series to become pretty damn fast depending on the parts. Remember its not always about each part. You gotta think of what parts work well together. I would think that this would be your best bet for your first project car because its pretty easy to swap/work on and decently priced engine and parts. These engines are also very tough and can take a hell of a beating. I have a friend whos got a B16a in his EG Hatch and shifts at 8000 rpm almost always and its still running like new after a year.
