I would personally have to say EG (92-95) and EK (96-00) are my favorite generations. I have an EG and I like the whole OBD1 scene. Newer civics are nice and all, but one thing I dont understand is why the mounted the cat right behind the rad support on the USDM Si.....

EG/EK/s have great upgrade platforms, you can buy parts for them at a convenience store haha

1. Tie between EK and EG
2. EF
3. Screw everything else.

Well put

The new Civic is not the small car it used to be.

I think the civics look bigger than they really are. I know a 06 si only weighs 250lbs more than an em1. (msn autos) But there are not many small cars anymore. shoot 2 door VW rabbits weigh over 3000 lbs.

Yeah I hate those headlights too. EG headlights look great! And they're glass!

'96-'00 Civics are my favorite, but '92-'95 Civics aren't too bad. Too often I see them in poor condition (rattling interior, beat to crap or all riced out).

I'd sooner get an Insight before I get an 8th gen though. 8th gens are way too big imo. The Fit isn't bad at all though, just totally gutless (and that's saying something since I daily a stock '98 EX).

Wow I must say I'm a bit surprised everyone likes the EGs to the EKs.

May I ask why? Lighter? Or the styling?

I'm currently driving an EG sedan, I picked it up for very cheap when I was in a bind when my other car died, it has just been an a-b car, no mods.

However now that I have money I was going to buy an EK coupe or hatch and mod it a bit instead of putting money in my EG, because they look better, it's newer and it's just good to change it once in a while. Plus it's hard to find a clean EG here (they all rust, EKs aren't as bad).

I really like the EG hatch, not so much the coupe and sedan. I *really* like the EK coupes and hatches though...

the older u go i believe there is more of a variety of parts available to buy used so i went towards the 99-00 civics but the 96-98 parts also are compatible
if your looking to mod ur car nd ur on a low budget go older
