NEWBIE questions!
Quite a few questions. First off, what all is needed to do a gsr engine swap? Where would be the best place to get them (new and used), and how much do they run? Are all 93 hatchbacks the same? Any (non motor) symptoms I should watch for?

Re: NEWBIE questions! (StarQuest)
basically u need...
complete longblock...( complete head...all the sensors...wire harness....all the motor mounts....distributor...fuel rail...alternator...distributor)
tranny
shift linkage
ECU
as for youre non motor problems...
your best bet is to go see the motor before u buy it...take someone who knows whats goin on and make sure u git ALL the sensors and parts before u buy it...ask for the paper work on the motor...try to stay away from motors missing vin tags...
and if you can...buy a motor from a shop with a good reputation if you cant find a motor near you..do your research....for a obd1 complete setup...youre probably gonna pay somewheres in the 3k to 3500 range...depending on miles....and if youre gitting the obd2 setup....make sure that you swap out for a obd1 distributor and a obd1 fuel rail...obd2 motors even though not as good as obd1 cost a bit more cus they tend to have lower mileage on em...good luck to ya....
