newbie question about my d16 civic
Hey guys, i just recently purchased a 97 civic dx hatchback as my daily driver. I am really familiar with diesels and know alot about them and the turbo systems and diesel performance. I was wonder what i could do to spice up my little civic.. could i turbo it? Will it still be reliable with a little boost to her. I still want it to be really reliable. Thanks guys

yea, a little boost would be tolerable. if you just want to give it a little more pep, and get the best bang for your buck, turbo would be the way to go.
as for reliability, depends if you buy an SSAutochrome turbo kit on ebay, or if you make sure you buy stuff that is a little more reliable, also, make sure you get it tuned.
check out d-series.org, lots of good stuff there

well what all were you planning on making? The stuff you want depends on how much power you plan to make, should we assume that you don't plan on building the engine at all?
check out the forced induction forum on here, you will get a lot of info on there.

Re: (96electronH)
Well i could make my own exhaust manifold, and all the plumbing.. where are some good places to buy kits. I want to do it myself cuz it would be cheaper. No i dont plan on doing anything else to the motor..

If you don't mind "a little" flaming, check out HMT (Homemade Turbo).
