Default newbie needing a bit of help

i just put some altezza skyline lights in my 99 ex and i was wondering if anybody has had this problem; the part with the back up light only has room for one light but there are two lights that go there on the factory one. do i just remove the one not being used and tape over the socket or can i do some "fancy" wiring to make the one bulb do the function of two, i.e. back up light and brake light? thanks for the help.

did you get the correct rear lights for your car? I personally have never seen that problem. In order to be DMV approved it must replace the factory ones perfectly, leaving nothing out...........

they are the correct ones. fit right up like stock. it seems like the back up light and running light are the ones that are in question. i have brake lights and turn signals. i have running lights on the corner but not in the center. i dont think that it would be a problem just was wondering if there was some wiring or an adapter that could be made or bought to solve this. if not oh well.
