Re: Newbie..Help Please (xXcivicsedanxX)
well let me give you some input on the b16a3 engine and what it means...
first off lets start off by explaining what the HELL all those letters and numbers mean: The block type is designated by a letter, the following two numbers refer to the engines size in liters, followed by the head type, also one letter. For example, D16Y8: Block type: D-series Engine Size: 1.6L Head type: Y8 SOHC VTEC 10.
these are all the possibel swaps that are most often used in a del sol..
D16Z6- 1.6L SOHC VTEC- 92-95 Civic EX/Si & Del Sol Si (125hp)
B16A2/3- USDM 1.6L DOHC VTEC- 93-97 DelSol VTEC/99-00 Civic Si (160hp)
B18C1- USDM 1.8L DOHC VTEC- 94+ Integra GS-R (170hp)
B18C5- USDM 1.8L DOHC VTEC- 97+ Integra Type R- (195hp)
H22A- 2.2L DOHC VTEC- 92-00 Prelude VTEC/SH (190-200hp)
beware the H22 is a really heavy engine and if you do this swap then you really need to upgrade ALL your suspension components.
if you need anythign else just holla!

Re: Newbie..Help Please (midnitekreeper)
midnitekeeper- thanks dude!
well.. after explaining the engines that are able to go into a sol.. whats your price range on spending on a swap? this is very important!! you have to plan accordingly to how much dough you have in your pocket dude.. also are you experience enough to do a swap yourself? this will help out on labor cost tremendously.
the easiest swap to do would be a straight bolt on b16a3 engine.. its a bolt on motor.. but you have to make sure to get all the right stuff with it.. like motor mounts, ECU, shift linkages etc.. this is very important when purchasing an engine.. if you need to find an engine let me know.. I have some hook ups and sites that you can hit up!
