Default newbie help clutch

99' Civic, clutch going out (metal noise when car first starts then goes away once warmed up). Sounds like it's coming from under the car, not under the hood.
Was asked if I've ever tightened my clutch cable....answer- no
(only has 27,000 miles).
I'm broke and need to do this myself.
Can anyone tell me where the clutch cable is, and how I tighten it ?
Thanks - Judy

Have you looked under your vehicle to see where the noise is coming from? You do know you have a hydraulic clutch right?

are you sure you clutch is going out, it could be your heatshield that's making the noise. I would get the car inspected in the shop. And you have hydrolic clutch, the only thing that you can do is to bleed it.

Check the exhaust system, man!!! Thise heatshields tend to do that... don't believe anyone who said that your clutch is going bad after 27000 miles... And especially that you have to tighten the cable since this is the hydroclutch...

Whoever said that to you knows ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT HONDA and even less about your problem...

Also check your clutch fluid level, just to be sure... (that little gray can on the opposite side of the engine bay from the battery - near the drivers side wiper)... there are two cans very similar... the bigger one (the left one of those) is the brake fluid... the right one is the clutch fluid... if you must poor in some fluid, USE HONDA GENUINE BRAKE FLUID (it is the same fluid that is used for clutch)

Try to tighten every single nut that holds those heatshields in place... exhaust manifold, cat (if applicable), resonator and so on and so on..

Go from the engine to the back and slowly locate every bolt down there and tighten it...

If that doesn't solve your problem, then come back here...
