I hate to ask this and it doesn't deserve its own thread, BUT what does "DX" stand for. I know what Si, EX, and more stand for. DX has aways puzzled me.

PLEASE EDUCATE ME!

I never really thought about it until your post. Now I'll be checking this post every 5 min to find out. What's the ex stand for? Hell, what do all of them mean? The only one I know is Si.

If that's what it means, why doesn't the cx have a c series and the ex have an e series motor?(I know they don't exist)

Oh yeah forgot about the lx. Sorry newbie but I think your thread just got jacked. Oh and good luck with the build. Search before you ask, read the rules yada, yada, yada. So does anybody know what they mean? Maybe I should search.

smartass. I was just pointing out the engine code that belongs to that trim level.

But I thought they just signify trim level. Like how Nissan has: XE, GXE, LE & SE

But the EX has the better motor than the LX so that rules out that theory!

From what I understand. <---New to imports but not cars.

Si is the fastest car with the best parts stock of this model whatever.

Ex has the luxury and great power but not as good as the Si.

Lx has all the luxury but has the same engine as the base model.

Hk? I think, Has the engine and power, but none of the luxury.

Dx??

Base nothing cheepest version of your car.

I'm sorry if any of this is wrong please correct me.

I believe this is how it goes:

VX-->CX-->DX-->LX-->EX-->Si

That's just for 92-95 civics.

any meaning in the name or the letters they chose to designate the low from the high?

they are just trim levels guys. On the 99+ SI's stood for something.

My guess? Maybe they just pulled the letters out of their asses.

VX is the gas sipper of Civics, came with a d15z1 engine that used VTEC-E to deliver excellent fuel effeciency. Also was the lightest.

HX was similar, but newer body style 96-00.

Don't try to think so hard about what the letters stand for, you're just going to hurt yourself. Just think of them as a way to differentiate the trim levels.
