Default newbee with some1999 civic EX 2-door questions

im looking into buying a 1999 civic EX 2-door with 55k miles.i have a few questions before i buy..

1.how do i check the CHECK ENGINE codes?

2.how do i get the instrumen cluster to throw back the actual mileage from the ecu?

3. what are common problems with this car?

4.I NEED A PIC OF THIS CAR STOCK cause im not sure if the lights are stock.

5.how do i do a complete tuneup? what do i need to do?

2. The ECU and odometer reading are independent of one another - they have nothing to do with each other.

3. If its a 5-speed, the input shaft bearing has been known to take a dive. Other than that, do a Google for TSB's [technical service bulletiens].

watch out for the windows since your planning to buy an ex either way as long its power windows and its coupe they have a tendency of getting derailed. and finding out which window it doesnt really matter it might b the driver side or pass. side if you get lucky you might get both like my buddy

Whats was said earlier ISB tends to go.

I bought my coupe with it going so that when I rebuilt the tranny, I knew it was good for another 100k+

im a newbee to this whole honda civic scene and i dont know sh*t bout this car. what am i supposed to search for ? i dont know no keywords or any technical terms. im used to dealing with german cars and american cars.

I dont have a helms , i havent even bought the car yet

my buddy had his window de-rail all the time, he still got problem's with it. just go on google and type "honda+civic+ex" or something like that and then click on the "image" button...it's not that hard just gotta look & spend time looking, do your homework hope this helps
