Newb questions about a d15b swap in a 94 cx hatch
Ok guys i been working on cars swapping motors building turbo setups but this is my first honda. I been reading up alot about this swap and gathered as much as i could. So what i did was i ordered a d15b motor and tranny 5spd from hmotorsonline. To replace the stock shitty cx motor what ever that engine code is. So the swapping in part is easy for me its the simple wiring im confused about. For some reason i have a 4 wire o2 sensor and appaerantly im not supposed to. But this works in my favor i think cause if im useing the us p28 ecu instead of the po8 for the jdm motor then it requires a 4 wire 02 sensor correct? Also do i need to wire up the knock sensor? For vtec to work i need to run 2 wires to the ecu from the vtec solonoid is that it? That should be everyting i need to be up and running i hope let me kno if i missed somthing. thanks

no knock sensor to wire up just the VTEC wiring, actually the D15B usually doesn't come with the pressure switch so you'll have to bypass it or get one for it

bumpp how to bypass the pressure switch and also what belt do i need if my old motor didnt have power steering but the new one came wit the pump and i dont want to use it

Ok Bro...I'll answer everything.....If you got the P08 ECU like you should have...all of this will apply.
The o2 sensor- Use the 1 wire o2 that came with the motor. Splice only the white wire from your harness to it.
Vtec- Here is what I did.....I spliced into the wires at the harness instead of at the ECU. These wires go the the proper pins. I spliced em right at these 2 wires.

This guy is crazy......dont listen to a thing he is saying....Nothing he says is making any scense. Everything that came with the motor is all you need. I just did this swap a few weeks ago...easy as pie.

I mean I may not know what I'm talking about, according to you, but I think phearable.net is a pretty knowledgable source (source of the above pic), as well as a lot of other people who have done this, including it seems like yourself except you did it at the shock tower instead of the ECU

Its pretty common knowledge that a lot of D15b as well as other OBD2 JDM motors don't come with the pressure switch. Here is a picture on a OBD2 GSR engine (first pic) and a D15B VTEC solenoid right here without the switch (second pic)

I did too and it didn't have a pressure switch, you could have been lucky to get one that did

Wow..You really are an idiot.
HIS CAR ISN'T OBD2 AND NIETHER IS THE ENGINE!! If he bought it from Hmotors like he said...They sent him an OBD1 engine. They know their ****.
Using a P28 with that engine is a hastle because you have to (well you should)program the P08 maps on it and then convert the 1 wire O2 sensor to a 4 wire.
You should have gotten the P08 ECU while you were at it....It would have saved you a bunch of trouble.
As far as Vtec wiring goes....You’ll need to run the blue wire (from the pressure switch) to pin D6, and then run the black ground wire from the plug to anywhere on the motor. You then need to run the green wire from the VTEC solenoid to pin A4.
Get the P08 ECU.

The engine I put in two weeks ago for a friend is OBD1, so is the picture of the motor above, so is the engine he received. The one I put in and the one pictured above and motors that a lot of people have received that are OBD1 also do not come with a pressure switch. His may have one I'm not arguing that I'm saying as in my original post most D15B's I've seen usually don't come with the pressure switch, pretty much all OBD2's but a lot, not all, of OBD1's. So for the OP if you don't have one you'll have to bypass the switch or get a pressure switch.

Just go to whatever auto store you like and get an alternator belt for the base model civic you have. They'll ask with or without PS. Done deal hommie.
And parts hero.....Sorry I'm acting like a dick to you....I truely apologize. I got my motor (D15b) from HMotors and it came with the pressure switch. Here is a pic of how my motor came from Hmotors. All I did was remove the plastic. I didnt even clean it!!
