wet your windshield and take a razor blade across the surface sideways. Dont push too hard cause it will catch on the window, but just enough so you can graze the top layer. Let me know if it still does it.

Wiping off your wipers when you wash your car will also help (no dish detergent on the car, please).
And never use wheel cleaner on your front windshield! It's acid and it can and will burn the plastic coating on the glass.

Re: (ifIexplode)
step 1: wet window
step 2: use steel wool and go across the whole window while keeping it wet...
step 3: dry window
step 4: wax window
step 5: whipe off wax and have a good visable rainy day

The Michelin Radius wipers are the same basic design as the Bosch Icons and the Anco Contours. They're all profile style wipers. They go with the designs of newer cars better, and in fact are stock on the new Civics. You know the floppy ones that don't have the "skeleton"? Those are them.

Imo they make our cars look a bit dated.
I use Anco Aerovantage and have never had an issue. They're also less than twice as much as the profile style wiper blades.

UPDATE: i tried what Doos told me. turned out great! but not happy because my windshield has lots of scratches most were from before. feel like i need a new windshield but don't feel like wasting money.
Doos, what would your other option be? what you think of steel wool?
thanks NOFX for the safety tips.

Use jewelers rouges it comes in a powder form get a high speed drill and a little buffer it will polish the windshield and take out light scratches.
the bad side you loose some clearity in the window.
i am an auto glass tech and all in all just get a replacement there really is not good solution to getting the scratches out. if you live in florida and have full coverage insurance will pay 100% for the new one.
but IMO just spend the $150 and get a new one

Re: (MustWonder)
First off don't do the steel wool it will get on everything. Something close would be a clay bar system. Yes on the windshield. Then apply a coat of wax to the window. Yes the window.
I smoke so I also use a wet towel with wax on the inside of the windows too. Then wipe them off. This keeps them cleaner longer.
So there you have it.
