I recently took off my whole front knuckles, brought them to Midas to have them pressed out and install new wheel bearings. The first day my car was quiet. The second day it started to make these funny wheel noises and feeling like its dragging or something. Could new wheel bearings go bad that quick? Could it be something with the installation? I don't wanna bring it to Midas unless I'm sure this is possible.

at the very least id take the car back up there and have the tech (or supervisor) go for a ride in the car with you so the issue can be addressed.

I'll put a dollar that the brake splash guard was bent in slightly and is dragging/scraping on the rotor.

I bent mine to crap after replacing my UCA & LCA. I had to bend the slash guard out of the way to press the lower ball joint in/out and I just eye balled the guard straight. Now I have the metallic scraping sound as I'm rolling. Most noticeable at low speeds. It's been too hot, and I've been too busy to take the wheel of and bend the guards out away from the rotor.

proper torque is important to prevent bearing failure.

then I will take that dollar because I already check those lol. Well those were the first thing I checked over and over again. I had to keep bending it and making sure that it does not hit anything.

Oh yeah they're torque down to spec

anyways I did a test. I jacked up the front and had my friend drive it without the wheels on. I can see that the passenger side rotors are wobbling. Which is odd because I just got the rotors resurfaced like 2 months ago. And when I brake my steering wheel doesnt shake... Maybe the guy who pressed in my bearings must have not pressed it in full? so if theres a slight slant, then it could cause it to wobble.

Update: I also changed the rear wheel bearings today. It was so simple. It only took me about an hour. The old rear wheel bearings were horrible sounding compared to the newer ones i installed. Will take it out for a test drive tonight. Will keep you guys updated

If they pressed them in by pushing on the inner race instead of the outer, they can get ruined that way.
