New User Saying Hi, few questions too...
Hi guys, I just registered here. This seems like a really good tech-rich site, so I hope to learn a lot, as well as share what little info I have acquired.
I have a 2000 Si. When I bought the car, there was no motor, trans, computer or interior in the car (it was a theft recovery). I thought I go with somthing different since a good friend of mine had a wrecked Ex. I bought his car, running, and am putting the motor, trans and computer into the Si. (Sacriledge, I know, but...) I know the motor has to be lighter, since it is a SOHC motor, but I know it is way down on power compared to the B16.
(I know it seems backwards to go that way, but I bought the car running perfectly for $1500, so it seemed too cheap to pass up.)
What would be the best way to make up for the power lost?
Also, please bear in mind, I am a total Noob when it comes to sport compacts, i.e. I don't know the difference in the D16's (Y,Z,A, etc) but I am learning more every day.
I just really need some suggestions to get this thing back up to and beyond the power it had from the factory.
Thanks in advance!
Taco
