so anyways, i am new to hondas i have worked on my friends CRX and i thought it was about time to hang up my Mazda MX-3 and get a honda the mazda took to much money anyways i have always wanted a del sol and now would be a good time to know them top to bottom without owning one, so my question is engines, what are they ? like are the SOHC or DOHC, 1.5 or 1.6 ? any stock v-tecs ? in what years and everything, thanks

well the 93s were only the S model (sohc, non vtec) and Si (sohc vtec)... 94 was the start of all three models: S, Si and vtec model which has the dohc motor.

*93-97 is when they made them
*93-95 have two auxilary lights in front and 96-97 dont(that's how you tell)
*they come in S (1.5 SOHC non-vtec EG1), SI (1.6 SOHC VTEC EH2), and lastly VTEC (1.6 DOHC VTEC EG2).
*Targa top that stores in the trunk
*I dont think 93 and 94 have trunk release(which is a pain in the A**)
*They weigh 2200-2400 lbs hence the name DEL SLOW
*Front engine Front wheel drive
*double wishbone front and rear

well damn, so what your saying is that the 93's do not have a VTEC in any model but the 94-97 have 3 model's the S the Si and the VTEC, the S is 1.5 SOHC non VTEC, the Si is the 1.6 SOHC VETC and the VTEC has a DOHC VTEC, now do i have this or what. so what would be almost ideal would be a 95 Si or VTEC ? because of the vtec the lights and the trunk release lol

The S and Si were available in '93. The S has a 1.5L SOHC and the Si has a 1.6L SOHC VTEC.

Only the VTEC model (with the 1.6L DOHC VTEC) wasn't available in '93.
