new swap problem iacv and idle d16y8 in 94 eg
so i just swapped a d16y8 in the 94 cx, with a z6 IM and transand P28. the thing runs fine and i get no CEL's but i have a surging idle from 1000 to 1500 after the car warms up or afer Wide Open Throttle, so i adjusted the idle screw all the way tight and it idles at 1200 and no more surging, the cable is not tight either, help me!!!!
also if some one has a diagram of vtec hook up send it to , i dont think my vtec is working any way of testing that?

Re: new swap problem iacv and idle d16y8 in 94 eg (norcalcrx)
this is interesting, because i had this exact setup, and my car did the same thing. I thought it had to do with my motor, due to major oil burn, but i pulled the y8 and put in a y7 (dx) i think its a y7, but i have the same issue. However, mine doesn't surge, my RPM drops. Do you have a air/fuel guage, cuz everytime mine does the bad idle, it goes lean too. I've tried almost everything, tune-up, wired in a obd I distributor, nothing helps. Car has never died on me, but i dont' like it, when i rev up slowly, it misses up to 1500 then its fine, and air fuel becomes normal too, so i'm not really sure. The only things left for me, are the sensors on the intake mani, which i've decided thats the issue, since that is the only part that has swapped over from my y8 to my y7. The other thing i'm concerned with is, the possible port match, between the manifold and head, thinking that they aren't likely the exact same, and possibly the difference is causing turbulance at low rpms, and once you get air flowing its fine. so if anyone esle has thoughts post up, not trying to thread jack ya. Also, mine does it regardless of exhaust setup, i thought maybe it was due to crappy exhuast leaks, but header, muffler did it, then i swapped in a stock manifold with cat, still does it, and had all new pipe welded up, thus no cracks, still does it. Like i said, i'm convinced its in the manifold.

complete motor with a z6 intake manifold. When i had the y8 in, i did the same thing, only i never checked if the ports were exact, same with my y7.
