New to site, Really nice and informative, need help Code 14 on a 99 Civic Si
I bought a Stolen recovery 99 Si in may and we put a 00 Si engine in it and finally got the whole car together a week ago. I don't have power steering nor cruise control. I'm getting code 14, which i learned how to read through this site, Thanks. What exactly should i do. The engine is practicly new so i don't think it should be a problem with any sensors. And my old car died/crash turbotercel.itgo.com.
Peace Any help would be appreciated.

Code 14: Idle Control System Malfunction.
Probable causes: IAC valve, or throttle body. It very well could be the IAC valve....that is on the back of the intake manifold, and could very easily get hit by something before or during the swap.

That's interesting that there is a code for bad IAC, when I had a bad IAC valve, I didn't get a code. I am 95% sure the problem was my IAC since my idle was jumping from 1 to 2k rpms and I finally put my civic IAC on (replacing the integra one) and the car idled fine. This is just my experience, sorry it probably won't be of any help to the original poster.

thanks guys, I did a few things i picked up during a search for code 14. It seems to have worked, I adjusted the cars idle, and simply unpluged then repluged the IAC. Anyway this site is great, thanks to all those that help. Peace and GB.
