Default New news for ref'ing a 99-00 civic with an h22a

A buddy of mine just got his 2000 civic coupe ref'd with an h22a. I know there has been a lot of descussion on here about how to do it, but i don't anyone (least that i've seen) has ever done a 99-00. Ok well first he went out with it, running an obd2b-obd2-a harness and running the 96 obd2a ecu. The ref said no the ecu has to match the year the car is, he explained to him that prelude's got skipped in the transition to obd2b so there was no ecu made for the car. He said he didnt care if he ran the jumper harness, but the ecu had to match the year. So now he was stuck cause the 97-01 prelude ecu's have immobilizers in them. We went and talked to my buddy who owns an import shop in town and he said to go find and immobilizer and he could wire it up. Found out you can buy immobilizers new from majestic honda for 190 with a key. Took it down there wired it up, then took the ecu over to honda and they programed it to work with the immobililzer. Took the car back out to the ref and he passed it. In a couple of months im gonna do the samething and take my h2b swap out there and see if he will pass that. Just thought i would post up the info that it can be done.
