New to me 95 DX, whats needed for timing belt replacement?
Just wanted to make an appearance, I'm a noob to the forum, just picked up a great condition 95 Civic DX, I have already started to replace parts I felt would need to be replaced and I have come to the timing belt, now the cover has been removed, the A/C has been removed, so everything is pretty much in plain sight, so my question is this, if I'm taking it to a shop, what parts do I need to completely do the job, I'm assuming, belt, tensioner, waterpump, tensioner spring..since it doesn't have a cover I'm assuming I wouldnt need the gasket. My next question, what should I anticipate labor wise/cost wise for this. Thanks in advance, and thanks for all of the wealth of information I have already learned from the "search" feature.
Thanks,
Josh
Thanks,
Josh

belt, waterpump, valve cover gasket kit. as for the tensioner and spring replace if need.
labor = diy or pay around 300-350 depend on the shop.

I just did mine. Hardest part was getting the crank pulley bolt off. Check out this DIY for the timing belt.

Very informative. You also might want to think about getting a Helms manual for your car since it sounds like you might be doing a lot of the work for it.
