Default New lights...blew already!!

i just bought a pair of new hid halogen bulbs and i put em in 2day........one of them also blew today!! now should i write back to ebay and bitch out the seller or blame my self because i think i touched the end of the bulb and when i was putting it in, i noticed it was a little hazy looking on the inside. the reason i mentioned this is because i heard you're not supposed 2 touch the bulb cuz it reacts with the oils on your hand etc. so, any ideas?

Well you touch the bulb man. What you should've done after you KNEW you touched it was to use some rubbing alcohol to remove the smudge. I clean the bulbs with rubbing alcohol even if I don't touch them and they've lasted longer than ever expected

you shouldn't touch any bulbs with your fingers, touch only the plastic part. glass can get in your vein and cause serious injuries.

stick to sylvania oem halogen. ebay bulbs
if you want bright light go do a HID retrofit.

i've seen the glass of a halogen bulbs pop before, it may cut you pretty bad in some case and small particals of glass may get in your vein, travel through your body and cause problems.

i'm not saying it will happen all the time, just a risky fact so dont touch the glass part of the bulb to be safe.

you shoudl NEVER tough tha actual glass of any automotive bulb, esp anything that has a high out-put like a headlamp, or fog light bulb...

try & wear rubber gloves next time...this way tha oil from yoru fingers wont get on tha glass & comprimise its integrity...

simple...

no glove.. no love...

The high-beam pair from autozone for my '90 was ~$36. Thats the second from the top sylvania - ultra white (next step was blue tinted). Granted I put the high-beams in the lowbeam sockets (70% more light lol), the white-ness just blew me away. Its like I was using candles before. So far, noone's flashed at me indicating they're too bright either.

On the other hand, my brother got some cheap blues from ebay. First they shipped the wrong ones, then he had one of the blue bulbs - which were VERY DIM - blow like yours.

BTW you called them HID Halogens...its one or the other, not both.
