New to Hondas
Howdy, I got my 00 Civic EX about 6 months ago and I'm ready to starting mod'n it. I have plans for dropping it first with Ground Control Coilovers and Tokico Illumina Shocks. This is where I need your opinion....Stay with the b16a(I think thats what it is) or do a GSR swap. Also since money is tight right now is an AEM V2 CAI worth it? Please let me know and if you're going to flame on me Anywho PM or AIM me @ SlowCivicEX

You're right, its the stock SOHC vtec.... well to answer my question which one? b16 or gsr? or just got turbo with my stock sohc vtec?

either boost or b18c1 swap. but since you are new to working on cars it seems the turbo might be more than you are ready for. if you do go turbo id say stick with a basic kit for now. a greddy kit would be best for you.

hell no. i wasted 200 bucks on the v2 for my sohc for a whopping 3 hp. save for your swap. your car will be louder but still slow as hell. save and be patient.

Thank you, finally.....any other mods before I save for the swap besides the drop?

id get your suspension setup completely finished first. then brakes. then go as fast as your pocket permits. just be patient - it's a joruney, not a destination.

Re: New to Hondas (EricMichael)
Intake and exhaust would be a good start. For the intake either a cheap one from eBay or like this one. For the exahaust custom piping with a Magnaflow muffler is my recommendation.

not if your gonna do a motor swap.... don't put a dime into that motor until you figure out what your doing. don't make the same mistake i did, and put a grand into your motor, then two months later decide to ditch it. get a plan before you spend any money.
i've *heard* that ground control coilovers with custom spring rates, and koni yellows are by far the best bang for the buck. search around here for a while before you buy anything.

The exhaust will transfer over to whatever motor you drop in, and 2.25" would be good for a stockish B-series engine. And the intake will probably fit onto whatever engine you would drop in as well. Besides, you're only out $20-70.
He also said it'll be a while until he does a swap or turbo.
