new to honda...even newer to civics, I might buy one!!!
As you can tell from the topic, I am a complete newbie to Honda Civics.
I have absolutely no idea what I would search under to find my answers, so I really hope this has not been asked before.
Situation:
1) I have come across a bone stock '00 Silver SI for a very attractive price
2) I am very interested in switching over to the Honda camp for many reasons
3) I would like to have all the advantages of a civic but at the same time, have the advantages of a car that handles as well as, or better than, an Integra Type-R
(as I currectly drive a car that handles in the same league as an ITR)
Dilemma/Question:
What does it take to make a bone stock 2000 SI (SIR for Canadians) handle as well as, or better than an, Integra Type-R without doing crazy chit like stripping the entire car & etc?
I understand the vague & general components needed, such as better:
-coilovers or struts/springs
-antisway bar
but what other parts are needed?
I know people buy lower-control-arms but what for?
^^^ stuff like that

I'd assume RX-7 since his avatar was a rotary engine.

Re: (mixmastabob)
there is no way you are going to make an SiR handle better than an integra R. the SiR is heavier, isn't as well balanced, and has less horsepower. even if you swapped the entire suspension, brakes, engine, and everything else that makes an R an R, you still wont handle as good.
however, you CAN make a civic hatchback, and maybe even a DX coupe, handle better than an R.
