thanks fellers. I'll drop it sown in due time, but i've just got this insatiable itch to get that jdm b18c in there first.
Has anyone used retreads yet? Last time i posted, everyone thought retreads were those rubber blobs that trucks left all over the road (true). The guy at the shop said these are different, they only reuse the bead (which is the expensive part) and they're a better setup than those big mac truck tires....? I sure hope so... i guess i'm the guinie pig.

I'd look for clearance tires... call around lots of places are just trying to get rid of stuff.. I got my perelli's for 24 bucks a piece delivered from tirerack.com
historically retreads are NOT a good idea.

yes, it is a tire that has a new tread section "glued" on to it. As they wear out, the tread will separate and you wind up with big sections of rubber flying all over your car. Semi's use retreads cuz they're cheaper. that's why you see huge sections of rubber on the road. That's from a retread separation.
edit: my best friend bought retreads once. the tire separated on him at 80 mph and destroyed his passenger side mirror and scratched his paint all to hell.

Well, they recycle the bead i guess. Basically just the tread is new, and maybe the sidewall i dunno. The guy at the shop claimed his yoko dealer says that in a couple of years all tires will be retreads.

well, the overall dia is only 3/8" more with the new wheels than my stock worn rubbers. Maybe the angle is catching too much of the top of the tire making it look like a stomper 4X4.
You should have seen my friend's '95 coupe after he put some 17's on a stock suspension haha. Now its slammed with only coilovers and he's got bad camber wear. the dolt. It rides like a freight train.
MY plan is for kyb agx shocks with a max drop of 1.5". H&R sports look nice, but i'm worried about them dropping it too low.

That's the most retarded thing I've heard in a long time... maybe if they consider retread to be rubber that was melted down or something and made into an entirely new tire (i.e. recycling) and yeah I could see that happening... it would be a good idea, too.
