new head and gasket still white smoke?
hey, i have a b15b and i put a 96 1.6 head onto it that was rebuilt at a shop.
still is blowing smoke like a train i dont understand???

Yeah they completly rebuilt the whole thing presure tested it , the whole deal. IM assuming its the rings just wondering itf it might be anything else.

You say the smoke is still white, correct? that would be coolant, bad rings will not cause you to burn coolant, they will cause you to burn oil, which smokes blue. I'd say either the head gasket didn't seal either because the head and block mating surfaces weren't cleaned well enough, damaged from being cleaned with abrasives, head wasn't torqued properly or the block deck surface is warped. Again to reiterate what i've said in countless other threads, do not waste your time trying to put head gaskets in engines that have overheated, you will more often than not have problems.
