I don't know if this will help, but here was a recent discussion about this:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=954731

Aside from that, does anyone know if the lighted red needles from a 7th gen will work in an EG / EK cluster?

If you want it to look better you could get a set from these guys http://lumineedles.com/index.html i havent seen them in use anywhere but they look cool and i dont have the 74.99 to spend on them right now. BUT it would be a better way to go then the sharpie methode.

isnt' that dangerous though because you would have to remove the entire pin, throwing your speedometer/ tach off? or is it just the needles that your replacing?
