New to forums - 2002 honda civic LX
hi, im new to these forums and seem intrested in making my 2002 civic LX sedan a little quicker. I have a question though to anyone who can help me. When i have my car in park and i rev up my engine, my RPM's only go up to 5000 and the needle just goes back and forth between 4 and 5000 RPM. I dont know why but when im actually driving i can easily red line it. Also, what is a good header-back exhaust for my civic? im looking to spend about $300 right now. If you can help me, please do.

You don't have any reason to be revving it to 4-5k in park. That's why it doesn't rev higher than that. It's got an electronic fuel cut (or something similar) to keep you from sitting there in park and bouncing your needle off the rev limiter.

ok, i see what you mean. Also , do you know any mods i could do to increase the speed of my car? it is really slow right now and for some reason, sometimes when i floor it, my car lags really bad and it will respond about 4 seconds later. I bought this car at an auction so i dont really know if there is anything that happened to it. Only thing i know is that it has a 2 in drop. let me know

Sure do. Turbocharge, swap in a K20/24, supercharge, etc, etc.

That you'll either have to check out or take it to a mechanic to check out.
