New Exhaust
Hello people,
I was looking into getting a new exhaust for my 92 civic si hatch. The main thing that is holding me back is ending up with a loud abnoxious pop can sound...which is something i HATE hearing on other cars.
So far i've been lookin at hks, which seems to be one of the more quiter brands. As for greddy, that seems to be a bit TOO loud for me.
Any suggestions about a brand that would be able to give me a smooth crisp sound?
One more thing. Does that acutal brand make that much of a difference in terms of the amount of performance that i should expect to see, or is it relatively the same?

Re: New Exhaust (DJP)
id go with a kteller exhaust, that seems to be what your looking for.
look on http://www.foxraceco.com, his prices include shipping which would be cheaper than directly through kteller

RSR Exmag, Apexi Worldsport II, or E.S tuning oval. Vibrant's are ok, never actaully heard a car with one, but judging by its design, it doenst look like it would be loud.
Also keep in mind that an Exhaust's tone is largely defined by the presence (or lack of) a cat and /or resonator. Neglect of one of both will leave you with a very raspy/farty/high pitched sound which i (and many others) find annoying.

Agreed. I'd go for the Apex'i WS2 or if you want to go for the stock/sleeper look, check out the Apex'i Noir. It's exactly like the WS2 just painted matte black. If anything, look up vids on youtube to get a preview of what these and other exhausts sound and look.

X2
The greddy's muffler chamber is pretty large compared to most aftermarket mufflers. This leaves you with a nice deep tone.

you can't compare brand to brand (for instance, greddy vs. hks) simply for the fact that both brands, or most brands for that matter, have loud exhausts, and quiet exhausts.. depends on which model you go with
