New ECU = reflash the key?

i'm performing an auto to manual conversion on my d17. when i install the new ECU, do i need to reflash the key for it to start up? any help would be appreciated...thanks

i think hes talking about the little chip in the key that allowes the car to start once the ecu confirmes that its the right key.
