Default New Custome Exhaust way to loud! What can i do?

Hi, i just had a custom exhaust done on my 1995 Civic EX. It has a jackson Racing Supercharger, MSD Ignition, AEM intake, DC Header, and a few other mods. Well, i had a HighFlow Cat, 2.5" piping and a Apexi N1 Turbo muffler done. Its the LOUDEST exhaust on an import i ever heard. Its quiet cruising in 5th on the highway but if i down shift i can be heard from miles away..no lie. It sounds like its coming right off the header. I cant even drive right now because i will get pulled over in a matter of seconds. What can i do to quiet it down and not lose any power?

Use a long glass-pack as a res - they are $15 out of summit (thrush). Helps a lot, with little to no resistance.

Or maybe take that cantaloupe shooter of the back

magnaflows are loud, trust me. ive got one on my exaust, the test pipe is resonated and theres a 14" resonator on the exaust. sounds like every other ricer lol, pretty damn loud and buzzy, im going to put a 30" glass pack on to see if that helps

to me..even with the the Jackson blower..ur 2 1/2 is too big...think of changing over to a 2 or 2 1/4..ur motor will like it..ull gain more torque and wont hurt ur high end with the blower...

a resonator will slow down ur exhaust and quiet it up a bit..but slowing down ur exhaust is not what u want..so, use a magnaflow 4" round muffler in its place and at the tail another magnaflow..i prefer the stock looking oval with a nice double d wall d tip

seriously, u guys havnt heard my friends exhaust. Its so obnoxiusly loud its unbearable. It SCREAMS. I have a N1 on my EP w/ 2.25" piping no resonator and its not even half as loud as his. Sure he has an older civic that is known to be raspy, but still. That muffler is huge and should make it somewhat quieter.

we were going to do 3" since usually FI needs it. They said that 2.5" would be good. he feels more power, do u think he is loosing to much back pressure.

3 inch is recommended, it made a world of difference on my friends turbo gsr/EG...try installing a resonator to reduce some of the noise...unfortunately with the N1 can, it's gonna be loud regardless...unless you use the silencer, maybe for daily driving

put back on the oem catylic converter or you can get a resonator.does your come with silencer if it does put it on. Also get a custom 2 1/4 pipe its less loud and youll gain more low end meaning more torque. Anways have u taking your car to the track what it your time.

I have the same problem..my exhaust is hella loud. I'm running a test pipe, custom 2.25" SS piping from Kteller8, no resonators and a fireball style muffler....Way too loud!! Just ordered a 22" resonator from Kteller8, can't wait for it to get in, hopefully it drowns some of the noise.

Update: Just got my 22" resonator in and put on and it made a world of a difference....no more popping noises and not as loud...and when I put my silencer in, the silencer no longer buzzes at high rpm.....my AEM intake is actually louder than my exhaust now....it sounds alot better!

ok if i am to get a custom exhaust done, and i want it pretty quiet but not too restrictive on a n/a motor what should i do? what size piping?

I like the look of the magnaflow mufflers. but other then that what should i get?

are hi flo cats worth it or not? do they make it too much louder? and i am kinda confused on what a resonator is. can someone please help? just list me the things i need to have a high flow but quiet exhaust
