new clutch still problems
basically the clutch blew on my 99 si with 120k
we put a new clutch in and resurfaced the fly wheel
before the clutch went it started slipping bad and you really had to ride it
for some reason i am having a SIMILAR problem with the new clutch
i feel like you really need to ride it out or you will the same similar problem i had before
i was just driving the car and i down shifted into second and i almost felt like something grind when i shifted into second i guess u can call it slipping or something really hard to explain
also when your in first and start off if you dont ride out the clutch the car will get that shaking/kind of chatter/slipping
its not that bad but i feel something is wrong in there
and when my foot is on the clutch pedal and i press it down i feel like a loose bolt spinning in there with my foot wtf???
its really hard to explain but i need some help
its stock replacement clutch

Re: new clutch still problems
Normally upgraded clutches give lots of chatter and need depressed slower to compensate. From what you described the stock replacement normally doesnt show these signs.

Re: new clutch still problems
this is a stock clutch i dont know the brand i get my parts from my father because he gets them very very cheap..
we also replaced the slave and master cyl for the clutch as well.
i just daily drive the car even though its got a couple things done to it..im selling it soon..but i really dont understand this clutch problem its had the whole time i had the car..i thought the new clutch would take away all chatter..shaking etc...something is wrong...sometimes when i hold my foot down on the clutch i feel something spinning/loose...

Re: new clutch still problems
I would suspect two things. 1) Either the manufacturer did not make the clutch correctly (I have had this issue on clutches with some of my other vehicles
Or
2) Your throwout bearing is not adjusted correctly and is not close enough to the release fingers (close enough but without the TO bearing engaging when the clutch is not depressed)...
Is there a cover you can remove to see how close the TO bearing is? Maybe your linkeage is worn out?
