new civic, tons of issues, need some help.
k, just bought a 92 civic hatchback. I'm finding a new problem every couple minutes. lol
i'll list out what i've found so far
-no interior lights
-gauges dont illuminate when the lights are on
-brake lights dont work (but when the parking lights are on one is twice as bright as the other)
-when its idling the battery light comes on and eventually flashes, and once you tap the gas it goes off, then comes back on at idle
-when the shift indicator lights come on it seems like the motor starts to hesitate?
-HATCH WILL NOT FREAKIN OPEN. pull the handle, hear it click, hatch open light on the dash is on, but the hatch wont open.
-when you dont have the clutch is let out it makes a whining noise. you can hear it when its idling. press the pedal in and the noise goes away.
Theres probably a couple other things im not thinking of right now but these are the big ones. If you guys can give me any help whatsoever, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'd probably say check your fuses for the interior lights.
Check wiring for the brake lights.
Get your alternator/battery checked to see if the alternator is working properly and that your battery is holding a charge.
No experience with shift indicator's so I can't really say.
Are you talking about the hatch door? or the hatch window?
Your input shaft bearing is going out in your transmission, mine's going out too.

i had the same problems with the brake lights and dash lights.
Dash lights: my dimmer switch is bad so just unplug it and jump the plug to check it. there are three wires just jump two of them
Brake lights: make sure to check all fuses (under the hood and dash)

well the gauges areny a problem. i'll just get some ebay glow gauges. I'm checking the alternator and battery today when i get to school and ill look through the wiring for the brake lights. i got the hatch to open this morning. I just talked to the previous owner and the gauges and tail lights work and stop working together. He said that the gauges work ocassionally and when they work the brake lights work, but he also said that recently the brake lights worked but the dash didnt. So idk. I think i have a lot of wiring to dig through.
eletrical problem sucks.

ok. I solved the tail lights, i put some glow gauges in, the shift indicator was my imagination, but i did figure out why i was having problems with the motor shuttering. For some reason it keeps blowing off spark plug wires, but i cant figure out why because the plugs are good. I was about to take it to get inspected when my slave cylinder went out. The clutch pedal is currently sitting on the floor. I'm going to be putting a new clutch in so if it is the throwout bearing making the noise itll be taken care of, but id like to change out the input shaft bearing too just in case. only problem is i cant find it. can somebody get me a link or a part number?
