New civic question - transmission seems to move around a lot
So I bought a '98 Civic EX with a OBD1 B18B, and when I was driving it I noticed that the transmission seems to move around a lot whenever I press on the gas or let off.
One of the motor mounts looks like it might be snapped, but I haven't had time to really look it over yet.
Its making me really nervous to drive it so if someone could help me out that would be great.
Also, I'm pretty new to the honda game so details would be nice..

Re: New civic question - transmission seems to move around a lot
Well I found out why it was moving.. two of the holes for the bolts for the front transmission mount are completely stripped on the inside is there any way to fix this? Or am I going to have to get a new transmission?
I attached some pictures of the bracket. The bottom bolt is the only one that is secure.
Also, that bolt in my hand in the picture I found on the bottom of the back of the engine bay. Anyone have any idea what it's to?

Re: New civic question - transmission seems to move around a lot
Ok so I did some research and it looks like I have a couple options..
1. Tap the holes and install a Heli-coil kit. I have been told that these are good if done properly. And since this isn't really a mount that takes a lot of torque would this be ok?
2. Tap the holes and use a bigger size bolt
3. Send it in to a machine shop and have them Time-sert the holes
Anyone have any input?

im pretty sure thats not the problem... what i think you should do is look at ur motor mounts tranny, driver side mount, n back mount.... does ur shifter move when u step on the gas pedal?? check those first..

That is technically a transmission torque mount, yours is a aftermarket/fab job. so in a stock mount setup that takes a good amount of jerk out of the equation.. get a set of stiffer mounts, Hasport for example and you wont rely so heavily on that mount. if you can find a Time-sert kit rather than a heli-coil kit that would work better in my opinion.
