Default New to this board

Hey, I'm new to this board, and I'm planning on getting this set-up soon:
5th gen hatch
B18C complete swap
single piece cai
dc sports header
2.25" or 2.5" catback exhaust (magnaflow)
50-75 shot of nitrous
major weight reduction
and next winter, new suspension components.
Anyone have any tips or pointers for me? thanks!
MIKE

Welcome.

As far as fuel pumps: you are better off just buying a Warlbro (sp?) for $100.

i did a search and all i found was a comparison between teh LS/GS/GSR pumps. nothing about the Si vs ITR. I was just wondering because I found an Si pump for $20. just wondering if there is much of a difference between teh Si and ITR. trying to save a few $$$.

I have looked up all of the fuel pump part numbers and prices, and here's what I remember (could be slightly off though)

CX/VX/DX - the same
Si - different part number from base-model 1992-1995 Civics
LS/RS/GS - it's own part number
GS-R/Type R - same exact part number and price
Si? Never looked it up, but you can bet that it probably has the same part number as the GS-R/Type R, and even if it doesn't it's probably still the same thing.

Just get a GS-R one from a salvage yard. I've seen them go for like $25.00, and as long as it doesn't say TYPE R!!![/b] on it then the price should be fair.

BTW: I'm running a GS-R/Type R one in my 1992 CX with B18C5 and I've not ever had any problems.

Then again my old 1992 Si hatch with B18C5 and current 1992 Si hatch with B16A did/do fine with the stock 1992 Si fuel pump too.

1 little thing of advice - dont spray on that engine... itll be fast enough without that fake power button. (only speaking for myself) i dont respect nitrous at all. if your car isnt fast enough with the type-r swap, then work on the internals. youll impress people a lot more. personally, i would rather race somebody and them be like, "holy ****, youre fast" then be like, "yeah but race me without the nitrous, *****". dont spray it.

yeah, but the nitrous is more of an "insurance factor" in those close races. I am wanting to force feed the engine sometime, but until the funds are there, nitrous is what's going in there.

Welcome to your new obsession! What brand of spray did you plan on using? You said you just wanted it as insurance for close races, so I'm assuming that you're going to go w/NOS brand. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but both ZEX and Venom are sprayed during open throttle. They also need to be armed early. I don't have nitrous, and I personally wouldn't use it, but if I did I'd prolly go with NOS brand.

nitrous express. I had a kit in my neon, and its a wet kit that is engaged at WOT. Its pretty safe. I was going to run it on the DX motor before i swap out, see how much it can, or can't handle.

i sprayed my cx motor twice with a 50 shot
on the first shot something went boom .. on the second shot the #1 rod came out of the block ...i dont know how much a dx would take but i hope you have your other motor just in case!!

peace and good luck

hUh?! are you sure about that, I've never used nitrous but that seems a little extreme.

CX engines aren't that strong, but only a 50 shot shouldn't make that much damage? Would it?
