New axle so shaky! what other axle can i use.
i currently am running a 99 gsr swap in my 93 si. i bought these axles from autozone with a lifetime warranty. now the driver side is fine. its just the passenger side which seems a bit short. i pop one side in the tranny and one into the hub. as i start to tighten the axle nut, it seems to be pulling it which is causing the boot to stretch and as i drive it makes a clunking noise. these are abs axles btw but i dont really think that matters. What other axle can i use to slove this problem?

Hmm..werid. I used Autozone lifetime Integra LS axles when I did my swap and its been over a 1 1/2 years with no problems. Wonder if you just got a bum axle?

OEM is the only way to go with axles.
I had aftermarket(premium) axles installed in my 99 hatch with a C5 you know the somewhat expensive ones you find at Napa, Advance or other. Would shake like crazy up to about 3500 rpm. Personally it could be in part to the fact that they don't have the rubber boots that are positioned around the middle of the axle shaft like OEM ones do.
Bought some used OEM axles from someone on ebay and the vibration was completely gone.
Anyone should know by now that remanufactured axles usually aren't the same axle that you need for your car.. if purchased from Napa, Advance.. they could very well be giving you the wrong ones to begin with.. has happened to me once on a Honda and once on a Toyota.

Hate some of you guys have had bad luck with Autozone axles, you are correct that they are new, but not new. While you can never go wrong with OEM on any part IMO I personally have never had any problems with Autozone axles. And I go get a new one for free when I have a boot bust, which eventually happens on all Hondas/Acuras no matter what Axles you run.
I used Autozone axles without problems on:
-My old D16Z6
-Current B18B1
-Dad's 1982 Honda Civic(been through lots of sets throughout alot of years)
-Dad's 94 EJ1
-Dad's 94 4-Dr sedan
-Cousins Del-Sol
-Etc.
Of course with high WHP applications I wouldn't use them but for stock or mildly modified engines when I have had the luck with them that I have, I will continue. I've never had one fail prematurely, or not fit correctly.
