Default New 94 HB owner needs help!

Ok guys I have a lot of questions about the 94 civic hb I just bought.

1. I need to know of a good shop to buy peformance parts from (preferable something online with a catalog).
2. I have a dx so I need to know if I can change the guage cluster for say an si guage cluster to get the tach? Does it have the proper hook ups for the tach?

3. What is the best rear sway bar for this car?
4. I need info on if anyone has switched there ECU and did it help any?

Thanks to all that respond!

Yes the Si guage cluster will plug in and work with no modifications. Are you gonna leave the stock motor in or do a swap? If you are gonna roll on stock for a little while. I would NOT recommend any upgrades. You will start to like the fact that it goes faster and spend a ton of money on a motor that is always gonna be slow. If you cant afford a b16a or a GSR swap I would say go with a SOHC VTEC swap for now. It will be faster then a stock GSR and it is cheap to do. While you are saving up for a real swap. As for online parts places I would try http://www.groupbuycenter.com on most of the parts you will be looking for. As for the rear sway bar I would go to the junkyard and get the front and rear suspension off of a wrecked GSR or LS that way you get bigger front brakes rotors and calipers and you get rear disk also. Also get the rear sway bar and the front sway bar. You should be able tio get everything from a junkyard for cheap like 500 for the complete suspension and sway bars. Get the shocks and springs too. Little bit stiffer then the civic's Hope this helps.

Thanks man it did. I guess I should tell you what my ultimate goal for this car it. I think I am going to be running it in either the honda challenge or marrs. If I do the honda challenge than I am allowed to install any sway bar. I can do a complete exaust from the manifold back. I can replace the ecu as long as it is replaced with a oem honda ecu. I was thinkin that means I can get a JDM ecu and run a little bit higher octane fuel. I can also install an intake.

So tell me what you think if I did this.
1. Get some kind of header like the dc sports for the R's that ends where the cat should be.
2. Change the ecu
3. Get some sort of filter on a stick setup
4. Change the rims and tires (really need suggestions on this one, I can't afford at this time something like volk's or spoon rims).
5. strip it and install all the saftey equipment.
5 Change the sterring wheel and seat.
6. Am I forgetting something????

Does any sell the si guage cluster or would I be better off going to a scrap yard?

ECU change won't even help because the only other "better" one would ne the P28 from the Si/EX, but that's VTEC and it would run in limp home mode due to no VTEC readings.

Cluster goes for $50-$150 depending on what yard has them and how many.

Ask for the MANUAL version from any 1992-1995 Si hatch (actually there were NO auto Si hatches) or 1993-1995 EX coupe. Tach goes to 9000rpm with 7200 redline - not that you'll see that with the Dx D15B7 motor, but if you ever swap it will be nice this way.

1992-1995 VX also had a tach, as well as the 1992-1995 LX and EX 4-door had a tach too, but I'm sure the Vx only goes to 8000rpm - remeber to ask for MANUAL on the LX as well - VX only had manual

Rear swaybar? You can get the rear suspension from a 1994-2000 Integra (any) so you'll have the holes in the lower control arms. These are only 14mm, but you can add the Type R 22mm bar with a Beaks subframe reinforcement kit and you will be 3 wheeling with the best of them

Wheels and tires? How about 12lb. Rotas that can be bought for $400 a SET and come in 15x6.5. Tires? Falken Azenis are a cheap, sticky 200 treadware tire for cheap too

Hope that helps a little
