So a buddy of mine told me about a site that offers sponsorships so i figured what the hell...and as I am filling out the shady site (with no links to what they are offering, or about others who have tried and their cars) I cancel it out realizing they are on the east coast. So i give a ring....


Right off the bat, there was somebody "who totalled their car" and a 12,000 spot was open...all they needed from me, if i got approved was 80 dollars off my credit card to draft up the contract. After listening to more and more, thinking i couldnt be the only one with a civic with b16 in it, he was ready to get me approved.

He had seen no pictures of my car, and was willing to offer this sponsorship....

Terms:

had to attend 4 races and take pics for proof...could include AUTOX or track events.
Contract for 1 year
I had to pay for 45% of the cost of parts the 12 grand would cover the other 55%

Needless to say i declined...because as a college kid i cant afford to lose any more money to scams....

Any thoughts?...goin to dinner now ill be back to post up a more detailed overview of the conversation with "mike"

Update. The way i heard about it was through a friend... It came out of modified magazine ad he found so he just sent in an app...Well see what happens...Anyway avoid this i guess. if you hear any word about it...or if youve had experience.... let me know what the deal is

i went through car sponsorships.com and they gave me some bullshit like... decalkits.com and some stereo ****.. when i told them that i want to autox my car and drag race it not show it.. but i paid them 80 bucks and i got some free graphics i sold to some friends.. but ya i dont know about any online **** at all anymore

Ya i doubt it was anything good... either that or they were just trying to get my address so they can gank my car.... God i hate shadyness....they are specific to racing though which got me intrigued cause thats exactly what i want to do.....

So ya, no 80 bucks for me, no credit card, no address... (well my school one thats only good till i graduate... but good luck finding it)
