Need your opinions
Hey guys, I have a chance to buy a 93 CX hatch. It has a LS swap, GSR tranny, carbon duck bill, optional center console, coilovers with adjustable shocks, LS webs, exhaust, and GSR cloth seats. The body is in good shape just your minor door dings, the color is that dark silver.
So the only thing is when I asked him if it had a clean title he said it was a theft recovery. But he did have the title. Would you pay $3000 for it?
And just wondering how many people here care about the state your title is in, and if so what are the pros and cons?
Does it really affect the resale value?

Yes, it most certainly does affect the resale value. for 3000, a hatch with a GSR geared LS motor doenst sound half bad. The fact that its "theft recovery" would somewhat turn me off tho.

It certainly does. Outside of the tuner world, a salvage title makes a car nearly worthless to the average buyer (whom does not have any interest in modifying the vehicle). The story changes a little bit when your dealing with people buying cars for the sole purpose of modifying them.

Cool thanks for the input. I guess the only thing holding me back from jumping on it is the "title". Just worried I would have a hard time selling in the future.

Re: Need your opinions (spock_rocker)
when you buy the salvage or theft recovery titled cars you should only buy it knowing you might not ever sell it. Like if you are buying the car to have for a little while do no work on and then resell don't buy it.
If on the other hand you are buying the car so that you can work on it modify it that kind of thing then go for it. You can always try to shoot him an offer lower say 2500... and he might go down to 2800 which is better than 3k if you ask me.
As for what I would do, if there is another car similar to it for around the same price i would go with the other. But if that is the car you really like and you like the motor already in it then go for it. Just my opinion though
