Default Need Sunroof/Moonroof info

I have a 94 civic coupe and looking to take the sunroof/moonroof glass out. (Just the glass not the track assembly) Since i have never done this before, i was curious as to how long and how much of the interior i have to rip apart.

Any help would be appreciated.. Even a suggested website would be helpful.

When I took a sunroof out of a Prelude.. I pulled the headliner off and went from there. you may have to pop a few panels loose, but other then that.. that's it. I don't remember what the roof looked like though.. so i'm not sure how the glass comes out. You may have to take it out as one whole assembly at first then work on the glass?

To only remove the glass, remove the plastic cover panels that you have access to from inside the car (just screws). After that, just undo the nuts holding the glass and remove the spacers (remember how they go for reinstallation)

There shouldn't be any cover panels, at least there weren't in mine. Just open the sunroof up part way, and you'll see three hex head screws on each side. Unscrew them, and you're good to go. Watch out for the shims, though. Depending on where you put them and what direction you put them on in, they either raise or lower the glass for adjustment. If you're just removing and installing the same glass, you'd do better to make sure the shims aren't moved.

any questions... let me know... I've got a 94 coupe w/ the sunroof still in it outside, and I've pulled the one in my hatch several times. good luck.

Thanks qat727 for the info.. I have not had the time to deal with my sunroof issue as of yet.. When i do i hope its not much of a pain.

All i need to do is take out the glass and clean the track and regrease the assembly its starting to sick bit, moving abit slow..... I tried cleaning it with the glass still in it, but i think it would easier and id do a better job with the glass out. So this is the reason for my post.

For as many times as I've answered this question around here, I'd have thought it would have showed up in a search. I guess I ought to just do a writeup on EG sunroof removal and installation. That ought to do the trick.
