need something to do to my car!
i need something to do to my 98 dx hatch. its stock right now except for an intake and muffler. i have coilovers that are going on asap. im saving up for an gsr or b16 swap but i cant stand not doing something to the car. any suggestions. im blank. how about adjustable shocks to go with the coilovers. any suggestions will be welcome. something relativly cheap though. and no altezzas or f&f graphics. i already have those of course.

I wouldn't even bother putting on the coilovers using stock shocks. Get some koni yellow (adjustables) to put on with those coilovers. What kind of coilovers are you using? I would use Ground Control or Skunk2, just make sure they're reputable. A lot of people don't like the skunk2 but the price is good and I have never had a problem with mine. I would do brakes next if I were you. Check out http://www.fastbrakes.com. I did the 11" civic kit on my 5th gen dx coupe and they are awesome. Brian's a great guy to deal with too! Top notch guy and he won't jerk you around. I was amazed at how fast they haul the car down to a stop. How about a cf hood? Or some nice sparco, recaro, corbeau race seats?
At minimum do the shocks if you're gonna put the coilovers on.

i got some shitty rs racing coilovers but they are ajustable and were at the right price(free) so i figure i might as well use them. do you think its a good idea to buy decent ones with shocks and put them on instead of using these and buying shocks. btw how much for sk2 coilovers

Yes I think it is a good idea to buy decent coilovers with some shocks. I bought my Skunks for 250 if my memory serves me right. Also look into Ground Control.

i think you can get skunk2 coilovers (springs and sleeves) for like $230 or so. Not positive. Look on http://www.groupbuycenter.com for deals on the skunk2. You might find the koni's there too. I wouldn't do springs without shocks. You could do the koni's with stock shocks and lower the car because the koni's have different perches, if you want to stay in a stock auto-x class for now. Doesn't sound like that matters though.

be patient, I think you would be happier saving for quality parts that will make a real difference, rather than blow your money on cheap low quality parts. Then again, its all up to you.

Re: need something to do to my car! (piscorpio)
if i throw the free coilovers on with after market shocks what kind of shocks should i get. i would eventually get ground control coilovers or something good but i want the money for the swap. also any opinions in b16a2 vs b18c1. i know about the power differences and torque but is it worth the jump in price?

drive it off a cliff, report it stolen, get your insurance claim, buy a bmx bike and a bus card, and then live in a bar until the money is all gone...j/k
just save up for the swap and only spend money on gas and beer

i prefer eibach s only cuz the spring rates arent as stiff as many of the other s..my choice is the prokit..but u might want deeper drop, then the sportline s..with either tokio illunima s or kyb agx s..koni s are to over priced for my blood..and till ur really serious about HP..id just upgrade the pads for now...then if uve got vinyl seats u can put a leather air freshener in the car..chicks live leather interiors

what are the prices on that air freshener. also how much hp is gained from it. (i have the wildberry smell, the kind that go in the vents and i noticed a real gain in the higher rpm's)

Well, you gotta get the JDM squash scent to make any power gains, if it was made anywhere else, it won't do you sh*t. It should add at least 50-60HP @the wheels. Just remember, you also need the 4ft tall Aluminum spoiler to make enough downforce to put the power to the ground. Oh, and don't forget to put a laptop in the pax. seat so you can play your trance CDs
